Concrete bursting for noise-free controlled demolition
Holes are drilled in the concrete structure and the burster is inserted into the predrilled holes. Hydraulic pressure provided through either electric/diesel or petrol supply. The splitting takes place as the tongue moves along the wedges creating a mass force against the concrete and causing it to fracture. The crack will find the weakest plane within the structure, which has been created through the initial drilling process. The process is then repeated until the entire structure has been fractured into manageable or smaller sections.
Concrete bursting /Splitting is used where crunching is not possible, it is a versatile and effective method of cracking concrete into sections or lumps for removal. It is a quiet and controlled form of demolition, which is used to remove both large and small sections and can be used in confined environments.
